Give the courier a usable collection window
A collection time is only meaningful if the consignment, paperwork and person handing it over will be ready. Record the full business address, access point, contact and earliest ready time. Include the latest acceptable delivery time and whether the recipient has a booking slot.
Courivio lets pilot members capture same-day requirements for provider quotations. A request is not a confirmed collection: the provider must accept the route, vehicle and timing.
- Collection and delivery postcodes and business contacts
- Earliest ready time and latest delivery time
- Parcel count, individual dimensions and total weight
- Fragility, handling, loading and unloading arrangements
Choose the vehicle around the consignment
One large item can determine the vehicle even when its weight is low. Measure packaged dimensions and explain if goods must stay upright or cannot be stacked. Ask the provider to confirm capacity and any handling equipment before award.
Do not assume every courier can carry specialist or restricted goods. Describe the consignment accurately and confirm suitability and insurance directly with the proposed provider.
Make the quotation and handover clear
Quotation
Compare the route, vehicle, included waiting and any urgent or additional handling charge.
Changes
Agree who can approve a revised time, extra stop or cost if the brief changes.
Delivery
Confirm the named recipient and the proof of delivery required.
Records
Keep the quotation, messages and completion evidence together in the secured job record.
